COVID-19 Liability Shield Laws
COVID-19 Liability Shield Laws, many states have taken action shielding certain business from liability relating to Covid-19.   Arizona is on the same tract.  Currently SB 1377  is making its way through the Arizona legislature.  If passed by the legislature and signed by Governor Ducey the new law would provide immunity from liability for healthcare professionals or institutions when the governor declares a state of emergency resulting from a health pandemic.
The law would enact two statutes.
The first statute would protect (ARS 12-515) business owners and the second (ARS 12-516) would protect healthcare providers.  The later

Wedding Venue Contracts and Covid-19 Can I Cancel The Contract?  This seems to be a common question I am asked.
Covid-19 Wedding
Force Majeure
Sometimes contracts contain a force majeure clause that allows for the cancellation of a contract.   Even absent a force majeure clause there are other  legal doctrines that may allow parties to cancel a contract.

Does My Business Interruption Provide Coverage For Loss Income Due to COVID-19?
Does My Business Interruption Provide Coverage For Loss Income Due to COVID-19?  As a general statement it depends.   You would need to read the coverage set forth in your policy.  First look to your policy declaration page, it will list all the coverage you purchased.  First you want to look to see if you have business income and expense coverage (or something similar).  The first place to look is not under what is covered.  Rather what acts or incidents the policy does not cover (excluded claims).

Does Arizona Law Cap Damages In Personal Injury Cases?
The short answer is no.
Some states have laws that cap the amount of money a person can recover as compensation for injuries caused by another person.  Some of these caps apply to specific types of injury cases.  Meaning some are caps on damages in car accident cases, while others have caps on medical malpractice claims or product liability claims.  For example California Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) limits not only the amount of non-economic damages at $250,000.00 (This amount does not include medical expenses (future or incurred)
